About the Anti-Hate Action Center

Powered by CASL

Launched in 2021, the Anti-Hate Action Center is the only center in the Midwest that provides comprehensive services for people who have experienced a hate crime or incident. Powered by the Chinese American Service League (CASL), the goal of the Anti-Hate Action Center is to track and respond to hate incidents, protect AANHPI communities, provide comprehensive support services, and prevent further incidents by laying the groundwork for new solutions. While focused on AANHPI individuals, the Anti-Hate Acton Center has services available to anyone who is a hate crime or incident victim.

Hate crimes and incidents can be incredibly traumatic experiences, whether they are directly or indirectly experienced. Powered by the non-profit Chinese American Service League (CASL) and supported by The Asian American Foundation, the Anti-Hate Action Center is uniquely equipped with the necessary tools to provide holistic trauma-informed care for hate victims and witnesses.

Chinese American Service League (CASL)

CASL is an all-inclusive non-profit agency with 45 years of experience connecting families and individuals with the vital support they need: providing an educational and cultural foundation for our children, ensuring our seniors live full and independent lives with dignity, enhancing education and training for tomorrow’s workforce, putting immigrants on the pathway to citizenship, securing our community’s housing and financial well-being, navigating healthcare systems and wellness resources, and fighting for equal access to justice. Since our founding, CASL has been rooted in the principles of equity and justice. That legacy continues to shape our efforts today as we strive to champion diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility at all levels of the organization.

The Chinese American Service League is a 501(c)(3) organization in compliance with Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA).

The Asian American Foundation

The Asian American Foundation (TAAF) is a convener, incubator, and funder committed to accelerating opportunity and prosperity for AANHPI communities. TAAF supports advocates and organizations committed to AANHPI causes so that together we can more effectively take action against hate and violence, and build the infrastructure needed to improve AANHPI advocacy, power, and representation across American society. We were founded to solve for the longstanding lack of investment and resources provided to AANHPI communities and we strive to be a catalyzing force for creating a permanent and irrevocable sense of belonging for the 23 million Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders living in the United States. Upon our founding, TAAF’s Board raised $125 million to support AANHPI organizations and causes over the next five years — the largest philanthropic commitment in history made by Asian Americans fully focused on supporting AANHPI communities.

The Anti-Hate Action Center is the only center in the Midwest that provides comprehensive services for people who have experienced a hate crime or incident. The Anti-Hate Action Center tracks and responds to hate incidents and crimes, provides comprehensive support services, and prevents further incidents through new solutions and educational resources, like bystander intervention trainings.

The Anti-Hate Action Center is powered by the Chinese American Service League (CASL).
