Counseling therapy, psychotherapy, or talk therapy offers you a chance to spend dedicated time on yourself with a professional who can help you unpack your story, get to the root of issues, and give you clarity on your past and your present.
Counseling often leads to a significant reduction in feelings of distress, increased satisfaction in interpersonal relationships, greater personal awareness and insight, increased skills for managing stress and resolutions to specific problems, resources and support on continued care planning. Counseling may involve exploring uncomfortable feelings, but it is shown to have great benefits to those who undertake it.
Essential daily activities can be more difficult for some than others. Our board-certified and licensed occupational therapist is here to provide support with issues related to everyday tasks such as bathing, health management, sleep, social participation, and more. You have the right to informed participation in decisions involving your health care.
The length of the service depends on your needs and can vary from case to case. Some people feel they get most of the value after just a few weeks, while others prefer to stick to the program for an extended period. You have the right to decide how long you want service to be. You can discuss the length of the treatment with your service providers.
You can communicate with your service provider in person at our office located in Chinatown or at your home (contact us directly to see if you are qualified.) or virtually via phone or video conferencing. Phone sessions are a great way to conveniently speak with your provider by simply using your direct line or cell phone, no matter where you are. You may also choose to meet with your provider via video conferencing where you see and talk with each other in a virtual face-to-face setting.
To use the Zoom function, you need to have a smartphone, tablet, laptop or computer with downloading app Zoom, and a stable internet connection. You may also need an email address so your therapist can send the video conferencing link via your email.

Coverage and benefits for services change from one health insurance company to another and from plan to plan. In many cases, before you can get reimbursed by your insurance company, your service provider would have to diagnose you with a behavioral health disorder or issue. This diagnosis would be sent to the insurance company and recorded in your medical file. In some cases, the service provider would also have to provide additional clinical information to the insurance company, such as treatment plans, summaries or copies of the entire record. Please note that our offers are very affordable, and sliding scale and fee waiving are available if you are eligible. Contact us to learn more about your eligibility.
