Get ready to celebrate as we kick off our Cultural Voices series with an unforgettable inaugural event! This year’s luncheon coincides with AANHPI Heritage Month, giving us an opportunity to reflect on the threads that bind our community and shape the future. CASL has long been a cornerstone of this city, bringing voices together and fostering unity through the power of storytelling.
ABC-7 Chicago reporter Cate Cauguiran will emcee the event and moderate a panel conversation with local, award-winning authors Susan Blumberg-Kason (When Friends Come From Afar), Gloria Chao (American Panda), Sonali Dev (The Vibrant Years), and Monica Eng (Made in Chicago: Stories Behind 30 Great Hometown Bites). Their voices have resonated deeply within our community and beyond.
We will also honor today’s changemakers by presenting the Community Leader Award to Illinois State Representative Theresa Mah and announcing the CASL STEM Scholarship recipients.
