James Mark Jr. is the Chief Strategy Officer at Wight & Company, leading strategic growth initiatives for their integrated design, engineering, construction, and transportation practice.
Jim is a licensed architect, holds a B.S. in Architecture from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and studied at the Fontainebleau Schools of Music and Fine Arts, Les Ecoles D’Art Americaines De Fountainbleau Architecture Program, in Paris, France. Previously, he worked at Skidmore Owings & Merrill LLP as their North America Central Practice Leader.
He serves on the executive board as Vice Chair for the Friends of the Chicago River, is a board member for Naperville Heritage Society, and is a member of the American Institute of Architects, Land Economics Society, and the Urban Land Institute. He has recently completed two Executive programs: Mini-MBA at Quinlan School of Business at Loyola University Chicago and “Design Thinking: A Toolkit for Breakthrough Innovation” at Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Jim is the nephew of Leonard Louie, 23-year CASL board member, and is committed to continuing his legacy in Chinese American civic leadership.
Jim lives in Naperville with his lovely wife of 29 years and his new puppy. He also has a daughter, who serves on the CASL Associate Board, and a son who recently graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and now works at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
