Nuo (Nora) Chen joined CASL’s Behavioral Health program in 2022 to provide evidence-based mental health and behavioral health services to individuals in our community. Holding a master’s degree in social work from the University of Michigan, with a focus on interpersonal practice, she is currently a licensed social worker (LSW) in Illinois. She has experience working with teenagers and adults with different mental health needs and is passionate about serving people from diverse backgrounds.
Nora believes in the connection between clients and therapists and trusts that each person has their own strength in behavior change with consistent efforts. It is understandable to feel confused and frustrated in such a fluid and ever-changing environment. The difference between culture, language, and personal values can also cause many challenges in life. Nora is open to listening to people’s emotions and the stories behind them. She also enjoys zoning out during working time.
