Vivian Xu is the Director of Community Engagement at CASL. Since 2005, she has been part of CASL’s mission to catalyze the transformation of individuals, families, and the community for an equitable future. Vivian serves as chief ambassador to the community and lead point for Pine Tree Senior Council. Previously, she also oversaw CASL’s Citizenship and Immigration program for 19 years.
Vivian works professionally and volunteers with numerous community organizations throughout Chicago. Her determination to better serve the community also galvanized her to acquire certification both as a US Department of Justice accredited Representative as well as a certified Alzheimer Disease and Dementia Care Trainer beside her bachelor’s degree in computer science.
In addition to her professional work, her outstanding contributions to the community have earned her several awards, including the Humanitarian Service Award from Jesse White, Illinois Secretary of State, the Outstanding Community Volunteer Award from Chinese American Association of Greater Chicago, the Commitment and Dedication to the Chinese American Community Award from Maria Pappas, Cook County Treasurer, and the Congressional Global Award from American Multi Ethnic Commission USA.
